A PROPOS 2

ABOUT US

When friendship and passion meet...

In 2011, Philippe, Vivien and Baptiste, long-time friends based in Brussels, created Titulus.

Passionate about “natural wines”, from their production method to their tasting, they thought of a “hybrid” project. Offer the possibility of tasting wines in a warm and friendly place, accompanied by quality local products, take home beautiful bottles, but also to propose to the professionals from Horeca some wines which were, until then, not present in Belgium.

Titulus acts as a distributor throughout Belgium, proudly representing committed winemakers.

To pursue their passion, Philippe, Baptiste and Vivien decided to acquire a domain in Azay-le-Rideau in Touraine, where they are all three natives. Today, Philippe has left Brussels to fully invest the Domaine des Hauts-Baigneux and its Agathe, who was already part of the Titulus team since 2015, who has joined the trio as associate manager in 2021, bringing her energy, enthusiasm and sensitivity to the wines!

The discovery and the discovery of the flavors are at the heart of the DNA of Titulus since its creation. It is therefore quite natural that Chef Lyla Bangels joined the adventure to offer her local cuisine in line with the principles and values of the house. On the menu, she proposes dishes to be shared in perfect harmony with the wines for a unique gustative experience appealing to all the senses.

Today Titulus is…

Titulus is today a team of 8 people who works every day with passion and dynamism in order to ensure you a warm welcome and make your visit a moment of conviviality around a real experience in the heart of the Belgian capital with not less than 500 references.

In 2015, Titulus also set up in Antwerp with the same desire, to meet over a good glass and/or a dish cooked with love by Chef Rhys, to advise or simply to exchange on a common passion, which is natural wine.

And by the way, why Titulus? More precisely, “Titulus Pictus” comes from the Roman antiquity. It is the ancestor of the label referring to the paint inscriptions on the amphoras containing wines, but also other liquids. In the European capital, the use of Latin allows, like the language of wine, to remain universal…

We look forward to welcoming you soon around a nice bottle.

Cheers!
