Janire Moraza et Patricio Brongo
Bodegas Moraza
Espagne, Rioja Alta

Bodegas Moraza, in the Spanish region of Rioja Alta, is an 18-hectare family estate that has been passed down through six generations.

Today, Janire Moraza and her husband Patricio Brongo, a Quebec winemaker and former ice cider producer, have taken over the reins of the estate. At the foot of Mount Tolono and the Cantabrian Mountains, on clay-limestone soils, they cultivate their vines located between 400 and 600 meters above sea level.

Their experience, passed down from generation to generation, has taught them a deep respect for nature and the desire to make wines that best express their terroir and to work with indigenous grape varieties according to the principles of biodynamics.

For the vinification, they let the fruit express itself by carrying out the fermentations in concrete tanks, favourable to the work of the indigenous yeasts.
