Romain et Florent Plageoles
Domaine Plageoles
Tarn, Sud-Ouest
Since 1805, 7 generations have handed down the keys to the Plageoles estate, located in the north of the Tarn department in the Gaillac appellation. It all began with Jules Plageoles, a farm worker, who gradually bought plots of land to grow vines, fruit trees and cereals. Over the years, the estate expanded and mixed farming gave way to grape production. In 1970, the estate took an important turn when the Gaillac appellation opened to red wines. The native Duras grape variety, which had long since disappeared from the vineyards, was planted. Bernard Plageoles, who took over the estate in 1983, continued the family legacy of forgotten grape varieties by planting ondenc, loin de l’oeil and mauzac, before switching his estate to organic farming.
Today, the two Plageoles brothers, Romain and Florent, manage the 27-hectare estate. Everything is cultivated in organic agriculture and in the respect of the soil.
