Grégoire et Bénédicte Hubeau
Château Haut-Lariveau
Fronsac, Bordeaux

In 1988, Bénédicte and Grégoire Hubau acquired Château Moulin Pey-Labrie. This was the culmination of 3 years of research to find a terroir that would allow them to realize their dream of making their own wine after courageously leaving their roots. In twenty years, they made of Château Moulin Pey-Labrie an estate of character and firmly established its reputation, by participating in the revival of the Fronsac and Canon-Fronsac appellations.

The vineyard of 6.75 ha extends on the hillside on clay-limestone soils, the minerality of the soil allows the wines to express freshness, intense fruit and elegance. The vines are mainly composed of merlot with a little malbec and the average age of the vines is 35 years. In their permanent quest to express their terroir of character, the cultivation of the vines follows the principles of sustainable agriculture through the optimal development of the micro-organisms of the environment. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the vinification is carried out on a parcel-by-parcel basis to obtain a rigorous selection and an optimal expression of each parcel.
