Laure Colombo et Dimitri Roulleau – Gallais
Domaine de Lorient
Saint-Péray, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
Laure Colombo and her partner Dimitri Roulleau-Gallais settled in 2014 in an old farm located in the Ardèche, above Saint-Peray on the place called “Lorient”. Both are very attached to their land with its fauna and flora and therefore decided to make their small family live as much as possible with the production of their farm: wine of course, but also thanks to their vegetable garden, their fruit trees, honey, apple juice, olive oil and sheep, pigs and chickens.
Located in the appellations of Saint-Péray, Saint-Joseph and Cornas, the vineyard parcels are naturally surrounded by fields and forests. They even reinforce this natural barrier with hedges of local trees. The estate is certified organic, but the approach goes far beyond the requirements of the label and results in concentrated wines, rich in flavor, but always balanced.
The Saint-Péray wines comes from the 4 hectares of roussanne and marsanne planted at 500m altitude around their farm. The Cornas vintage comes from a plot of Syrah of barely 1 hectare at an altitude of 300m above the place called “Chaillots” and the Saint-Joseph comes from a small plot of 25 ares, located at the foot of the hillside in Mauves. In total, a small vineyard of about 5.25 hectares.
