Working today alongside his daughter Melissanthe, Thomas Ligas created the winery in the 1980s in the Pella region of Greece, a land that is conducive to making good wines because of its sunshine and soil.

From the very beginning, Domaine Ligas turned to organic and biodynamic agriculture. The gentle slopes of Pella are always sunny and the wind is always favourable. The roots of the vines spread out in the drained soils, which are of a silty-calcareous-siliceous and clayey composition. The grass between the rows is left for the organic world to develop and allow the preservation of a natural balance.

Ligas produces wines mainly from Greek grape varieties; roditis, assyrtiko, kydonitsa, xinomavro. In the cellar, barrels are used for the vinification and the maturation on lees, but amphoras, stainless steel tanks and concrete tanks are also used.
