Famille Michlits
Meinklang
Burgenland, Autriche

The Michlits family, with Niklas Pletzer, developed the Meinklang farm on the eastern side of the Neusiedlersee in Austria.

The 70 hectares of vineyards coexist with nature in an incredible biodiversity. Due to their location near lakes, the vines enjoy a favorable situation for their growth. The long summer days allow for better ripening, while the cool evenings allow the grapes to rest well, bringing fruity and fresh flavors. As fertilizer, they use their own compost made from cows, horses and sheeps manure, pomace, green waste and occasional stone powder. They are proud of their Angus cows, which produce some of this manure, hence the label on their bottles, which are a reflection of them. Vigorous and robust vines that produce a unique wine full of character can only grow on living soil.
